Indian Social Club Annual Table Tennis Team Championship Draws Enthusiastic Participation The annual Table Tennis Team Championship organized by the Indian Social Club Oman witnessed an enthusiastic response from members, bringing together players and supporters for an exciting evening of competitive sport and camaraderie. The championship provided a wonderful opportunity for members to meet, bond, and strengthen friendships through sportsmanship and teamwork. A large crowd of supporters gathered at the club to cheer for their respective teams, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere throughout the tournament. The tournament format featured teams consisting of six players each, who formed three doubles pairs. Each doubles pair competed against corresponding pairs from the opposing team. The initial stages were conducted on a round-robin basis, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the knockout stage. Teams representing various wings of the club participated enthusiastically, with Goan Wing and Sindhi Wing also putting up commendable performances during the tournament. After closely contested league encounters, the teams from Bohra Wing, Deccani Wing, Team ISC, and ISC-Rockers emerged as semifinalists. In the semifinals: ISC-Rockers defeated Deccani Wing. Team ISC defeated Bohra Wing. The grand finale between ISC-Rockers and Team ISC was an exciting contest: Chintan Gohel & Sathisha Gunduramaiah defeated Gopalkrishnan & James Lorence 2-0. Suhail Khan & Dr. Vinay defeated Preetam Shete & Urav Gohel 2-0 in a keenly fought match. Vaibhav Lingarkar & Abhishek Lingarkar defeated Hemachandra Ail & Shanawaz KK. ISC-Rockers thus clinched the title with a 2-1 victory.
